The Okere Falls Beer fest finished up with a bang on Saturday, with an all-day session. It was hampered by a bit of rain here and there, but that did not dampen spirits. I must apologise - in the rush to get there I forgot the camera, so no pics this time. The crew at OkereFalls Store did a fantastic job all week, and all who attended were keen for it to become an annual event.

Okere Falls Store 2008 Beer Fest Underway
The first of the pig trotter feasts took place tonight, with a good crowd in to start a week of festivities. Two Croucher beers are flowing from the new taps we just installed, the Pale Ale and The Hef. The Hef is perfect for this event, given it is our take on a traditional German-style of beer, with a number of patrons enjoying drinking it from the gigantic steins.
If you around Rotorua this week, make sure you get yourself out to the festival. There are evenst each night, culminating in the main festival day on Labour weekend Saturday from 9am til 9pm.
We'll try and get a few photo's on here, including the tradionally dressed waitresses.

October means Oktoberfest

It's THAT month in beer land, and Rotorua's Okere Falls Store is hosting an authentic German beer festival running from Monday 20th October to Saturday 25th Ocktober. With Ompa music, pig's trotters, weiss wurst, bratwurst, bretzels, and of course lots of great beer.
Sarah and Andy from Okere Falls Store import German beer and are also great supporters of Croucher Brewing. Our beers will be available throughout the festival, and we'll be there pouring them on the main fetival day, Saturday the 25th. It will be a huge day, starting at 9am for a beer breakfast and going through til 9pm.
Bookings are recommended as there are limited tickets, and interest has been high. To get tickets visit okerefallsstore.co.nz or call 07 362 4944.
